IN A NUTSHELL

Updated:
26 October 2008
My sole aim is to make certain that learning the art and science of fly-fishing is enjoyable and fulfilling. I want a day by the water to be a fulfilling and relaxing experience. I want the time that we spend together exactly to meet your needs. Spell it out and we'll design the tuition together, be it an hour of fly-casting or a series of sessions.
Yes, I am a qualified, experienced professional, yes, I am a member of the prestigious Hardy/Greys Academy, but it does not end there. Your whole learning curve must not be too intense and clinical. Of course you want to learn the skills and to adopt best practice. What you do not need is to be bored stiff. Going fishing is supposed to be fun and I will try my best to ensure that it is. If you would like an insight into the way that I do things, read one of my monthly columns in the Yorkshire Post. I'll even send you one on request. Alternatively, take in my presentation at the Great Yorkshire Show in July. I shall be at various events across the County during 2009. Please, drop by for a chat.
A plea from the heart; whatever you do, do not allow yourself to be coached by an unqualified amateur. I spend a good deal of time undoing the damage created by such scenarios, and it can be a painful process. Trying to "unlearn" problems and mistakes is very difficult. Life is too short NOT to learn properly in the first instance. Of course it costs a little more but I try very hard to keep my fees at a reasonable level and you can be confident that the job is being done properly. YOU become my advertising agent, I need happy and satisfied clients as my ambassadors at the waterside.
If you need advice or more information about what is available, you can email me from this site via the enquiry form. Alternatively, just pick up the 'phone.

I look forward to hearing from you.
